Definition and classification of motor

Motor is an electromagnetic mechanical device which uses the interaction of electricity and magnetism to realize energy conversion and transmission. In a broad sense, motors include motors, generators and special motors. Motors absorb electric energy from the electrical system and output mechanical energy to the mechanical system. Various types of motors are widely used in various departments of the national economy and household appliances, mainly as the driving force for various mechanical equipment. Generators absorb mechanical energy from the mechanical system and output electrical energy to the electrical system. With the technical progress of generators and other related equipment, people can use heat energy, water energy, nuclear energy, wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy and other energy sources to generate electricity and provide necessary electrical energy to all sectors of the national economy and the vast number of urban and rural residents. Special motors mainly refer to motors with special use environment, production technology and technical standards, which are different from ordinary motors.

From the structural point of view, although different types of motors have different structures, they are usually composed of three parts, namely, fixed part, rotating part and auxiliary part. The fixed part is mainly composed of stator frame, frame, stator core, stator winding, end cover and bottom plate, and other magnetic, conductive, supporting and fixing structural components. The rotating part of the motor includes rotating shaft, rotor core, rotor bracket, rotor winding, slip ring, commutator and fan. Auxiliary parts include bearings, brushes and coolers.
